Race Report

Conditions were perfect for the May race. We welcomed new runners Felicity Long and Graham Capper and congratulated Sheil Evans on her 50th run.

Sam Hunt broke his handicap by nearly three minutes to finish in first place and become our Rising Star in a new personal record time. Luke Pierce is making an excellent come-back from injury and was our Most Improved Man. Hot on his heels was Claire Collier who was Most Improved Woman.

Our May Most Improved Runners

Thanks very much to Maggie Barber, Andy Smith, Bonnie Hunt and David Gould for helping and to the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.

Jeremy Barber's excuse for being slower than last month was that his legs were still suffering from the Tandem Tart Challenge. Expertly piloted by Mary Corbett on Trixie Bumble Barrow, Mary's tandem trike, he rode the ten mile time trial in the New Forest in 33 minutes 12 seconds. It is ME Awareness Weeek and he was Mary's 75th partner raising funds for ME research. Here's a link if you'd like to chip in the celebrate their colourful performance. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/intandemwithme
