Race Report

Four in a row for Ian. Well done!

First of all an apology to Ian Blundell, Jim Dundas and Andy Smith who didn't get the message about the the start being earlier than normal because of the Easter Sunday church service.

It was a cool, overcast morning for the April race. Ideal conditions for running.

Jack presents the trophies and Easter eggs to Katie and Ian

First home was Katie King who beat her handicap by 1 minute 29 seconds to become Most Improved Woman. Ian Beveridge knocked a further 47 seconds off his handicap to finish as Most Improved Man for the 4th time in succession. Well done! That is the first time anyone has achieved four in a row and is certainly a run of wins it will be hard for anyone to match. Third home with a new PB was Glynne Evans.

Thanks very much to Maggie, David, Jeremy and Jack for marshalling, to Maggie for the flapjack and Easter eggs, Rob and Jeremy for the photos, David for the signs and to the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.

Please see the link above for an album of pictures.

We look forward to seeing you at the next race on Sunday 13 May starting at 10am (yes really 10am this time) at the Cricket Ground. Runners of all standards are welcome as are brisk walkers. It is a handicap race so the slowest have as much chance of winning the cups as the fastest. Supporters of all ages are very welcome.
