Race Report
A small but select band of hardy runners donned Santa hants and braved actic conditions for the December race. The course was icy in places and runners were warned to take care. Despite the poor conditions the first 5 runners beat their handicaps. Well done all!
First home was our Most Improved Man, Dennis Doney, who beat his handicap by over a minute. Competition for Most Improved Woman was limited and all Sandra had to do was to finish to make it a December Doney Double. She duly did so and became our Most Improved Woman. Well done both!
Afterwards we enjoyed warming refreshments: mulled wine and hot mince pies.
Thanks very much to Maggie Barber, Dave Henery, Claire and Sarah Collier and David Gould for helping and to the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.
The next race is on Sunday 8 January, starting later than usual at 10am. New runners are always welcome. You don't have to be fast. Please do give me a call or drop me an email if you'd like to join us.
We issue a monthly email invitation a few days before each race and very occasional other emails. Please follow this link to be added to our Mail Chimp list. Some email systems may treat your first email as spam so please look out for it and add us to your trusted list.
