Race Report

The weather was dry for the April race but, like Noah, we were still waiting for the waters to recede; it was more than ankle deep at The Cleeves so all the runners got wet feet.

We welcomed new runners Alexander and Henry Kidd who were accompanied by their parents Camilla and Andy. We also welcomed back old hands Alice Evans, Lee Gregory and Karl Gailer.

Alexander led from start to finish to become our Rising Star. Second home was Forton's Dave Henery who was Most Improved Man and Alice was Most Improved Woman. Well done all.

Afterwards the runners enjoyed chocolate biscuits with grapes for those preferred the healthily option. While we were enjoying the refreshments who should rock up by Chris Edwards who had not noticed that the start time was 9am! Better luck next month, Chris.

Thank you very much to Maggie Barber for marshalling, Andy Smith for doing the signs and David Gould for processing the results. Thanks also to the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.

The next race is on Sunday, 12 May starting at 9am at the Cricket Ground. New runners are always welcome and you don't have to be fast. It's a handicap race so everyone, whatever their pace, has a chance of winning.

We issue a monthly email invitation a few days before each race and very occasional other emails. Please follow this link https://tinyurl.com/yygolzdb to be added to our Mail Chimp list.
