Race Report
The weather was foul for the June race; cold, wet and windy. Much more like April, in fact, but then April was like June this year. We welcomed Kieron back after a long period of injury. Well done Kieron and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
11 runners and their supporters braved the elements this month and as each runner set off they got a round of applause from those remaining snug under the cricket pavilion.
It was a Forton 1, 2 for the men as Dave Henery ran a storming finish to overtake Jeremy Barber in the last 100 yards. For the women Leyanne McNeice beat her handicap by 18 seconds to take the cup.
Thanks very much to everyone who helped, to Jack, Maggie, Nina, Lynn and David for marshalling and time keeping, to Jack and Jim and David for the lovely cakes and to Emma for serving the refreshments on her 18th wedding anniversary. Thanks also to David for doing the signs and to the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.

We look forward to seeing you at the next race on Sunday 10 July.
