Race Report
Despite the lovely weather—sunny and almost warm—only 11 runners presented themselves for this month’s L2SOTM. The floods have abated somewhat, so there was little in the way of wading to do and half the field beat their handicaps.
Many congratulations to James, this month’s Most Improved Man, who stormed in at the head of the field despite having run over from Andover to get to the start. Congratulations also to Wendy, this month’s Most Improved Lady. Also to Magnus, who was unlucky to have had a run-in with a horse to lose a little time. He is our Rising Star: very well done! Honourable Mention goes to Matt, who posted yet another a Personal Best, his 3rd in a row.
Thanks very much to marshals and timekeepers, Fiona, Andrea, Sheila and David; to Maggie for providing and serving refreshments and Jim for the scrummy cake. Thanks also to Fiona and David for the signs and, of course, to the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.
The next race is on Sunday 13 April starting at the usual time of 10am at the Cricket Ground. It is a handicap race so runners of all abilities have a chance to win!
