Race Report

It was warm and damp for the June race. Despite that 10 of our 20 runners broke their handicaps and 5 of them achieved their best ever times. Well done!.

From the left: Jeanette, Dave, Mikey, Jesper, Sonia and Jonathan.

We welcomed new runners: Adam Vaughan and Ian Jones. Our Rising Star was Mikey Sykes who stormed home beating his previous best time by over two minutes. Sonia Whiteman was Most Improved Woman and Dave Henery was Most Improved Man. Jesper Strøier presented the trophies. Sadly this was the last run by the Strøier family but that did give us an excuse for some lovely cakes!

Thanks very much to our helpers, Jonathan Evans, Pauline Masters, Paul Fielding, Maggie Barber, Sam Arnold, Angie and Abbi Bryan, to Jim, Jeanette, Angie and Claire for the cakes. Thanks also to the adults who accompanied juniors and to Rob Bryan and Angie for putting out the signs and to the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.

The next race is on Sunday 10th July starting at the usual time of 10am at the Cricket Ground. It is a handicap race so runners of all abilities have a chance to win. Everyone is welcome especially volunteers to help!
