Race Report

We welcomed three new runners, Asha Hails, Nicole Montague and Rory Chichester to The Plough for the September race on a pleasant morning. They all live close by so we hope they will become regulars. A tree down across the path out of North Acre did not deter the runners who enjoyed the challenge of the hills and the joy of the long gentle downhill stretch on the Middleway in the last kilometre.

New runners often underestimate their speed and so it was this time with Asha, Nicole and Rory in first, second and fourth places. Mr Handicap will sort that out next month. First home off a genuine handicap was Adam Priestley in 3rd became our Most Improved Man. Megan Brunwin (accompanied by her Mum, Jo) was our Rising Star and Claire Collier was Most Improvedf Woman. Well done all!

Our runners managed to find a way through the fallen tree
Trophy winners Claire, Megan and Adam

Afterwards we enjoyed a convivial chat over coffee and bacon butties.

Thank you very much to Maggie Barber and Christina and Jack Searle, for marshalling and to David Gould for processing the results. T

The next race is on Sunday 13 October, starting at 9am at The Plough. New runners are always welcome and you don't have to be fast. It's a handicap race so everyone, whatever their pace, has a chance of winning.

We issue a monthly email invitation a few days before each race and very occasional other emails. Please follow this link https://tinyurl.com/yygolzdb to be added to our Mail Chimp list. Some email systems may treat your first email as spam so please look out for it and add us to your trusted list.
