Race Report

We welcomed two new runners: Martin Crawshaw and James Brighton to The Plough for the October race. Conditions were good and no fewer than 11 of our 19 runners recorded their best ever time for the new route.

Martin underestimated his speed and was first home by nearly three minutes but James was spot on to the second; the first time that has happened.

Kerrie Sait in second place was Most Improved Woman, Megan Brunwin in third was our Rising Star and Gareth Brearley in fourth was Most Improved Man. Close behind him in 5th place was Mark Curtis in a new course record time. Well done all!

A tightly grouped pack of finishers caused some consternation to the marshals. Plus Jim started early when the name James was called. But we think it is all sorted in the results above.

Trophy winners Gareth, Megan and Kerrie

Afterwards we enjoyed a convivial chat over coffee and bacon butties.

Thank you very much to Maggie Barber, Megan, Gareth and Mark for marshalling, Andy Smith for doing the signs and to David Gould for processing the results.

The next race is on Sunday 10 November, starting at 9am at The Plough. There is plenty of time to run and change in time for the Remembrance Day service. New runners are always welcome and you don't have to be fast. It's a handicap race so everyone, whatever their pace, has a chance of winning.

We issue a monthly email invitation a few days before each race and very occasional other emails. Please follow this link https://tinyurl.com/yygolzdb to be added to our Mail Chimp list. Some email systems may treat your first email as spam so please look out for it and add us to your trusted list.
