Race Report

It was a Goldilocks morning for the April race: not too hot and not too cold, in fact just right. We had a good turnout of 21 runners including Colin and Fiona Teasdale and Katie Evans who we welcomed back to their first events for over five years.

The good conditions enabled six runners to achieve personal records for the new course: Dave Henery, Tom Rogers, Steve Squibbs, Luke Pierce, Andy Mountain, Christian Searle and Graham Capper

Katie has clearly been practicing since she finished first and broke the women's course record by over a minute to become our Most Improved Woman. In second was Forton's Dave Henery who became Most Improved Man for the 26th time, an amazing record. The Rising Star award went jointly to Megan and Alfie Brunwin. Well done all.

Our trophy winners

Thank you very much to Maggie Barber and Elspeth Robertson for marshalling, Andy Smith for doing the signs, Jo Brunwin for accompanying the juniors and to David Gould for processing the results.

The next race is on Sunday 11 May, starting at 9am at The Plough. New runners are always welcome and you don't have to be fast. It's a handicap race so everyone, whatever their pace, has a chance of winning.

We issue a monthly email invitation a few days before each race and very occasional other emails. Please follow this link https://tinyurl.com/yygolzdb to be added to our Mail Chimp list. Some email systems may treat your first email as spam so please look out for it and add us to your trusted list.
