Race Report

Despite a warm and damp weather forecast it was frosty and bright for our December race. It was our Christmas event so there was a smattering of Santa hats.

We welcomed new runners Charlotte Young, María-Belén Rivas and Lewis Young.

Lewis was first home but you can't get the trophy off an estimated handicap so our Most Improved Man was Lukas Ford in second place. Jo Brunwin was Most Improved Woman with a personal best time and Megan Brunwin was our Rising Star. Well done all

Our trophy winners and Alice

Special mention goes to Alice Evans as this was her 100th race. Alice was one of the original in the first event so she certainly has stickability. She is also a very able runner. She held the course record until her daughter took it over and has been Most Improved Woman on numerous occasions. Well done Alice!

Afterwards we enjoyed tea, coffee, mulled wine and mince pies (thanks Maggie) and an excellent sponge cake (thanks Jim).

Thank you very much to Maggie Barber and Elspeth Robertson for marshalling, Alice Evans and James and Lukas Ford for doing the signs, and to David Gould for processing the results.

The next race is on Sunday 11 January, starting at 9am at The Plough. New runners are always welcome and you don't have to be fast. It's a handicap race so everyone, whatever their pace, has a chance of winning.

We issue a monthly email invitation a few days before each race and very occasional other emails. Please follow this link https://tinyurl.com/yygolzdb to be added to our Mail Chimp list. Some email systems may treat your first email as spam so please look out for it and add us to your trusted list.
