Race Report
The forecast rain did not materialise and conditions were good for the May race apart from a strong headwind in the first kilometre.
Dave Henery is getting back to form after a spell of injury and finished two minutes ahead of the field to become our Most Improved Man. It was a mother and daughter double for the Benedettos for the other trophies with Elizabeth Benedetto in second place and Most Improved Woman just ahead of 5th placed Susanna Benedetto who was our Rising Star. Both recorded their best time ever as did Jack Dundas. Well done all! We welcomed new runners Marco Ford and Toby Bishop and welcomed back David Roebuck after nine years and Chris Dewey after over ten years. Toby and Chris both predicted fast times but a misunderstanding of the sign at the bottom of Tracy's Dell led them to do a rather longer route than everyone else and they finished last. Better luck next time!

Afterwards we enjoyed a warm welcome, bacon rolls and coffee at The Plough.

The next race is on Sunday 14 June, starting at 9am at The Plough. New runners are always welcome and you don't have to be fast. It's a handicap race so everyone, whatever their pace, has a chance of winning.
