Race Report

The Most Improved Runners with the trophies

It was warm and dry, if a little humid, for July’s L2SOTM. A warm welcome was extended to new runners Kate, Katie and Justin and to several we haven’t seen for a long time. Well done to all 17 who ran (and a selection of minders) and particularly to our Rising Star, Tabbie, and to Marija and James who were our Most Improved Woman and Man. Tabbie slaughtered her Personal Best by almost five minutes and PBs were set by Marija, Liz and Jim: well done!

Particular thanks to those who helped out in the absence of Maggie and Jeremy who were ‘up north’ – Fiona and David for the signs; Laura, Georgie, Emma and Fiona for marshalling; David and Jim for the cakes; Laura and David for looking after the tables and of course the Longparish Cricket Club for the venue.

The next race is on Sunday 10th August starting at the usual time of 10am at the Cricket Ground. It is a handicap race so runners of all abilities have a chance to win!
