Race Report
We welcomed two new runners for the September race: Darrell Waite and Tracy Webster. Conditions were pretty well ideal and there were some excellent performances.
First home was Forton's Dave Henery who became our Most Improved Man. Most Improved Woman was Rebekah Searle in 4th place.
Darrell recorded his best ever 5K time, three Searles: Rebekah, Jack and Raymond had personal course records and Andy Smith, Christina Searle, Claire Collier and Jeremy Barber all had their best times this year. Well done all.
A question for the matematically minded. What are the odds against four consecutive Searles in the finsihing list of a race with 14 finishers including four Searles? Please explain your workings.
Thanks very much to Maggie Barber, Sandra Doney, Amelie Searle and David Gould for helping and to the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.
The next race is on Sunday 9 October. New runners are always welcome. You don't have to be fast. Please do give me a call or drop me an email if you'd like to join us.
We issue a monthly email invitation a few days before each race and very occasional other emails. Please follow this link to be added to our Mail Chimp list. Some email systems may treat your first email as spam so please look out for it and add us to your trusted list.
