Race Report

There was another good turnout for the July race. The weather was kind and the new venue is a great success. We welcomed new runners Ivy and Peter Oates and Matthew Benneyworth.

Ivy led from start to finish but you can't win a trophy off an estimated handicap so our Rising Star was Henry Kidd (accompanied by his Mum, Camilla) who finished in second place nearly two minutes inside his handicap. Most Improved Woman was Hayley Halford in 4th place and Most Improved Man was Andy Mountain in 7th. We also had a new course reord from Mark Curtis. Well done all!

Trophy winners Andy, Henry and Hayley

Afterwards many of the runners took advantage of the Plough's new breakfast offer and tucked into a well-earned full English or a bacon butty or just enjoyed a nice sit down.

Thank you very much to Maggie Barber, Graham Capper, Rebehah Searle and Neil or marshalling, Andy Smith for doing the signs, to the adults who accompanied juniors and to David Gould for processing the results.

The next race is on Sunday, 11 August starting at 9am at The Plough. New runners are always welcome and you don't have to be fast. It's a handicap race so everyone, whatever their pace, has a chance of winning.
