Race Report

Summer is over; it was chilly and overcast for the October race. Attendance was good with 19 runners but the beer festival the previous evening may have affected some performances, mentioning no names.

Clive Bugeja led from start to finish and completed the course nearly two minutes inside his handicap with a new personal record time to become our Most Improved Man. Andy Mountain and Richard Taylor also had personal record times in 4th and 5th and AAlice Evans was Most Improved Woman in 7th. Well done all!

Clive with the trophy

Afterwards we enjoyed coffee and bacon rolls in The Plough.

Afterwards we enjoyed coffee and bacon rolls in The Plough. It was the 20th anniversary race and also Mark's birthday so there was a double cause for celebration.

Thank you very much to Maggie Barber and Claire Collier for marshalling, to Andy Smith and Alice Evans for doing the signs and to David Gould for processing the results.

The next race is on Sunday 8 November, starting at 9am at The Plough. New runners are always welcome and you don't have to be fast. It's a handicap race so everyone, whatever their pace, has a chance of winning.
