Race Report

The sun didn't quite shine but Spring seemed almost to have arrived and conditions were good for the April race. There was an excellent turnout with 22 runners plus a host of supporters and escorts.

We welcomed new juniors Jenson, Evie and Wilf, all of whom ran faster than predicted so they finished in first, second and third places. Next across the line was Andrew Gibson who generously declined to be Most Improved Man as he was running off an estimated handicap. There was a hot battle for the next two places with Jeremy Barber just scraping in ahead of Alice Evans who became our Most Improved Seniors. Katy Evans, back after a long break was the Rising Star. Well done all.Congratulations also to Jeanette Stroier on a new personal best.

Thanks very much to the marshals, Jonathan Evans, Emma Smith, Pauline Masters and Jasmine Paddy and Maggie Barber and to the Cricket Club for the lovely venue. The pitch may need to dry out a bit for the next match - there were ducks swimming on it before the start!
