Race Report
The day dawned indifferently: dull, grey and with the promise of rain. Nevertheless, we had a decent turnout including new junior runner Niamh. An innovation this month was the placement of kilometre markers round the course.
The rain held off until we were ready to give the trophies out and the cool conditions allowed half the field to improve on their handicap time. Congratulations to Eleanor, Sonia, Liza and Ben, all of whom set new Personal Bests.
Congratulations and the trophies go to Wendy and Ben, who are this month’s Most Improved Runners and Eleanor, who is our Rising Star.
Thanks go to the junior Evanses for starting us all off and operating the stopwatches; to Jim and James and Maggie (in absentia) for scrummy cake and flapjack; to Emma for manning the refreshments table; to Fiona and David for the signs and, last but by no means least, to the Cricket Club for letting us use their lovely grounds.
