Race Report
It was a lovely sunny morning for the January race; what a nice change from all the wet weather. Conditions were excellent for running and there was a record field with 33 finishers plus lots of adults who accompanied no fewer than eleven juniors.
We welcomed new runners: George, Minnie and Lizzie Gairdner, Lee Gregory, Oli Coleman and Mary von Guionneau. Joe Goldsmith broke his handicap by over three minutes to become our Rising Star. Joanne Wyatt was Most Improved Lady and Forton's David Gould was Most Improved Man.
Joe, Lucie Nelson, Archie Waite, Dennis Doney, Imery Wearn and Oscar Reid all recorded their best ever times. Well done!
Thanks very much to our marshals and timekeepers, Maggie Barber, Piers Blewitt, Paul Goldsmith and Lizzie and George Gairdner, to Maggie and Jim Dundas for the refreshments, to David Gould for doing the signs and to the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.
The next race is on Sunday 14th February starting at the usual time of 10am at the Cricket Ground. It is a handicap race so runners of all abilities have a chance to win. Everyone is welcome!
