Race Report

Some regulars were off at Endure 24 including David Gould who ran 90 miles by himselfProbably because no-one would talk to him -- Ed and Ian and Wendy Beveridge who ran 80 between them. So it was a quality field of 14 runners for the June race on a warm, sunny morning and they proved that with 8 people breaking their personal records.

Angela, Luke and Jalal: June's Most Improved Runners

First home was our Rising Star, Luke Sanderson, who knocked off an astonish 5 minutes. He was followed by Jalal Janmohamed, who was two minutes inside his record and became Most Improved Man. Most Improved Woman was Angela Dewey, again with a personal record. And the others to join that roll of honour were George Reynolds, Donna Bryan, Hallam and Dennis Doney and Lauren Beal. Well done!

Well done to everyone who ran or accompanied children or simply turned to cheer the runners on. Thanks go to Jim Dundas and Maggie Barber for refreshments, Alice Evans and Maggie for marshalling and time keeping, Jeremy Barber for the signs and the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.

Our next race is on Sunday 9th July starting at the usual time of 10am at the Cricket Ground. Everyone is welcome especially volunteers to help (full training provided). If you'd like to run it is a handicap race so people of all abilities have a chance to win.
