Race Report
Conditions were good for the November run and we had 31 runners including 9 juniors. We welcomed Sam Arnold to her first race as an official runner but it was by no means her first race as she is a regular as our photographer and/or accompanying Frankie.
First home and smashing her handicap by over 5 minutes was Rose Billingham who became our Rising Star. She was closely followed by Noah Johnson who also beat his handicap by over 5 minutes. Both were personal records. Well done! Other personal bests were Amber Ridge, Sandra Doney, our Most Improved Woman, Gina Graham, Eve Ridge and Victoria Blewitt. Our Most Improved Man was Dave Henery, who took the title for a record equalling 14th time. Commiserations go to Arthur Hibbert who had to retire with a nasty stitch.
Well done to all who ran or accompanied children or simply turned out to cheer the runners on. Thanks go to Jim Dundas, Angela Bryan and Maggie Barber for the lovely cakes, Sam Arnold and Annabel Doney for photos, Angela Dewey, Barbara and Maggie for marshalling and time keeping, David Gould and his glamorous assistants for the signs and the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.
Our next race is on Sunday 10th December starting at the usual time of 10am at the Cricket Ground. This is our Christmas run so refreshments will include mulled wine and mince pies. Everyone is welcome especially volunteers to help (full training provided). If you'd like to run it is a handicap race so people of all abilities have a chance to win.
