Race Report
We had some great feedback after the race (see the box).
It was a beautiful, sunny morning for the February race. We had 36 runners, only one short of the all-time record, and ranging in age from 9 to 78.
We welcomed new runners Michelle Homes, Ellie Hill, Wojtek Majka and Amanda Whatley and welcomed back Lulu Hibbert and Jack Dundas after long absences. Both had clearly been practising while they were away as Lulu broke her handicap by over 6 minutes to become our Rising Star and Jack broke his by over 4 minutes to become Most Improved Man. Lucy Finlay was our Most Improved Woman and all three, together with Paul Fielding, Amber Ridge and Pollyanna Reynolds had personal best times. Well done!
Thanks very nuch to Maggie Barber for marshalling, to Victoria Blewitt and Jim Dundas for delicious cakes, to David Gould for doing the signs and crunching the numbers and to the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.
Our next race is on Sunday 11th March starting at the usual time of 10am at the Cricket Ground. Everyone is welcome especially volunteers to help (full training provided). If you'd like to run it is a handicap race so people of all abilities have a chance to win.
