Race Report

It was calm and dry for the January run. What a contrast with December when a whirlwind blew down trees all over the village and anyone with any sense stayed in bed.

Paula, Sarah and Dave: the Most Improved adults and junior marshal extraordinaire

We welcomed new runner Emma Noble and welcomed back Jane Evans after a five-year absence. First home and Most Improved Woman was Paula Motley who has won the cup thee times in her last 4 races, each with an improved personal record. Well done! And well done too to Dave Henery who was Most Improved Man for a record breaking 15th time. Congratulations also to Jim Dundas who got a new personal best in his 75th run and to Jane Evans, Victoria Blewitt, Claire Collier and Kerry Starkey for personal records.

There were no juniors this month so the trophy went to four-year-old Sarah Collier who was a great help with marshalling. Thanks also to her father, Nick and Angela Dewey for marshalling, to Victoria Blewitt and Jim Dundas for delicious cakes, to David Gould and Andy Smith for doing the signs and to the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.

Our next race is on Sunday 11th February starting at the usual time of 10am at the Cricket Ground. Everyone is welcome especially volunteers to help (full training provided). If you'd like to run it is a handicap race so people of all abilities have a chance to win.

Lost Property

And finally, we have three items of found property, a blue top, a yellow Bramley 20 hat and a Donald Duck cup - see picture. If they are yours please contact Jeremy.
