Race Report

We welcomed a new runner, Ben Jewell, to the July race. It was the hottest weather for a very long time but, despite that, both James Masters and Christopher Edwards did their fastest runs ever. First home and leading man from start to finish was Rob Biggs who broke his handicap by over two minutes. Most Improved Woman was Jacqui Healey and Sim Evans was our Rising Star.

The Most Improved Runners

Two juniors, Nina Smith and Jack Prince, urged their parents to greater efforts from the comfort of bicycles but Jack and Lulu were seriously delayed when his pedal fell off!

Afterwards around 20 people enjoyed a well earned barbie by the river in Forton.

Thanks very much to Pauline, Sarah, Maggie and Emma for marshalling, photography and flapjack, to David and Fiona for the signs, Jim for the cake and the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.

The next race is on Sunday 11 August at the usual time of 10am. Everyone is welcome.
