Race Report
The Most Improved Runners Jim, Jenson and Angela.
There was a little chill in the air for the running of the 100th Lonparish Second Sunday of the Month race (L2SOTM). With Jeremy away in the Falkland Islands competing in the Standard Chartered Stanley Marathon, race organisation fell to Andy Smith and Tony Reid. It was an eye-opener to see how much work Jeremy and Maggie put into organising each run and how they must now have it down to a fine art. Jeremy had left a 31 bullet point list of instructions!
Anyhow, all went well and first home and winner of the Rising Star trophy, with a huge improvement on his previous time, was Jenson Paddy. Next, running off an estimated time, was Tanya Timms. Third home and the Most Improved Man was Jim Dundas and next was Angela Dewey who with a PB was the Most Improved Lady.
Thank you to Oscar and Nina and to all those who helped with cakes, refreshments and stopwatches. Thank you as always to the Longparish Cricket Club for allowing us to start and finish the race at the cricket ground.
Next month, on April 12th, we shall be officially celebrating the 100th running of L2SOTM. We are hoping that as many people who have run the race before and new runners will come along. Please let Jeremy know if you intend to run.
