Race Report

It was cool and wet for the July run. That was good for the runners with no fewer than 13 out of 20 beating their handicaps. We welcomed new runners Joanne Wyatt, Mark Curtis and Paul Fielding.

Derrick, Archie and Wendy: our Most Improved Runners

First home, three minutes ahead of his handicap was Archie Waite who became our Rising Star. Wendy Beveridge was Most Improved Lady and Derrick Gardiner was Most Improved Man. This is rapidly becoming a habit for Derrick who has been Most Improved Man three times in the last four races. Well done!

Archie, Derrick, Katie Sykes, Rob Bryan, Karl Gailer and Angela Dewey all recorded Personal Records.

Thanks very much to Claire Sykes, Maggie Barber, and Niamh and Oscar Gailer for marshalling, to everyone who accompanied juniors, to David and Fiona Gould for doing the signs and to the Cricket Club for the lovely venue.

The next race is on Sunday 9th August starting at the usual time of 10am at the Cricket Ground. It is a handicap race so runners of all abilities have a chance to win. Everyone is welcome!
